Nick Long has worn many LMN hats, from operations to programming, but his primary focus was the general management of WHLF and the marketing of all LMN properties to local and regional clients. Nick has been on the air at WHLF since the summer of 1974 and has become known as “The Voice of Halifax County”.

Nick has been broadcasting Halifax County High School sports and Dixie Youth Tournaments since the late ’70s and has been the track announcer for South Boston Speedway since the early ’80s.  He has been recognized with South Boston Speedway Media Center Honors for his work promoting the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series and, in 2011, was named Business Person of the Year by the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce.

Nick is the Second Vice-Chair of the Halifax Chamber’s Board of Directors and leads Halifax Forward, the "Positive Voice of Business" supporting a pro-business climate that advances the economic growth and prosperity of Halifax County.  Nick recently chaired a successful campaign to pass the “Mixed Beverage Issue” and “County Meals Tax” ordinance for the Halifax County Board of Supervisors and the residents of Halifax County.
