T.I. and Jeezy are announced for the next Verzuz battle

Verzuz returns with the battle of Atlanta: T.I. vs. Jeezy.

Over the last few months, T.I. has challenged a number of rappers, including Jay-Z and 50 Cent, to face off against him in a Verzuz celebration battle.

Now, fellow Atlanta native and rapper Jeezy said he wants all the smoke to kick off the second season of the Instagram Live series, launched by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

“What’s a king without a crown,” wrote Jeezy on Instagram, sharing a flyer of the Verzuz announcement over the weekend.

This will be one of the most anticipated Verzuz battles thus far. Fans are looking forward to T.I. and Jeezy sharing their knowledge about the history of Atlanta and their music, as two pioneers of trap music.

This grand announcement comes days after rapper Busta Rhymes challenged T.I. to a Verzuz battle. But T.I. said his “big brother” “belongs in the generation that he represents.”

“I spoke to Busta,” said T.I. in an Instagram video. “I gave him LL [Cool J]’s number. I told him, that’s the tree you want to bark up. You might want to get back in the generation of yours that you want to represent for.”

The Verzuz battle between T.I. and Jeezy goes down Thursday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Instagram and Apple Music.
