H.E.R. hopes to add to her trophy collection with a win of one of the eight Soul Train Awards nominations she received Wednesday, leading all artists. Chris Brown follows her with seven nods, while Beyoncé and Young Thug each received six nominations.
H.E.R.’s nominations include Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and the Ashford and Simpson Songwriters Award. “Slide,” featuring YG, is up for Song of the Year and Best Collaboration and Video of the Year. “Slow Down” with Skip Marley, is also nominated for Best Collaboration and Video of the year.
Last year, 23-year-old H.E.R. won Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, and in 2018, she received two awards: Album/Mixtape of the Year for her self-titled compilation, and Best Collaboration Performance for “Best Part,” with Daniel Caesar.
The 2020 Soul Train Awards will air Sunday, November 29 at 8 PM ET on BET, BET Her, VH1, and MTV2 hosted for the third year by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold from Martin.
