Barack Obama reveals what he learned when daughter Malia’s boyfriend quarantined with them

Barack Obama is opening up about what he learned while living with his daughter, Malia, and her boyfriend Rory Farquharson.

The revelation came during the December 17 episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast. While chatting with the host,  the former president revealed that Malia’s boyfriend quarantined with the family during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There was this whole visa thing, he had a job set up, and so we took him in,” Obama explained, adding, “I didn’t want to like him, but he’s a good kid.”

Aside from being a good kid, Obama also noticed something else about his daughter’s British beau — that he eats a lot.

While reflecting on what the household would do on a daily basis, the politician said, “The only thing you discover… [is] young men eat.”

“It’s weird to watch them consume food,” he continued. “And my grocery bill went up about 30 percent.”

Malia, 22, has been dating the fellow Harvard student, also 22, since 2017.
