Andra Day was already on cloud nine when she won the Golden Globe for her work on The United States vs. Billie Holiday. However, the win was made all the sweeter thanks to Beyoncé, who honored Day with a thoughtful gift.
The “Rise Up” singer, who won the Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture, took to Instagram to show off what Bey sent her — a gorgeous white flower bouquet.
Day also snagged a snap of the card Bey sent along with the flowers, which read, “You make us all so proud. A huge congratulations! Love, Beyoncé.”
The singer was obviously rendered speechless by the wonderful gift, as evidenced by the caption filled with a string of emojis and exclamation points.
She included a second reaction to the gift in her slideshow, selecting an animated gif of Bey attesting, “God is real.”
Several of Day’s famous friends also congratulated her for earning praise from Beyonce, such as Naomi Campbell, Brandi Carlile, Niecy Nash, Tyrese Gibson and Lee Daniels, who directed The United States Vs. Billie Holiday.
Day shared in a separate video that she also received some special attention from Regina King, who crashed her post-award interview — resulting in the two jumping up and down, shrieking, hugging and gushing over the other’s beauty.
“Kept tryna come up wit a caption for dis but I jus [gasping, crying and green heart emojis,] she captioned. “u inspire me n ur love soooooo real livin legend, brilliant.”
